The leading scorer in Gordon-Rushville basketball history is taking his talents to the next level.
G-R senior Jace Nelson made it official, signing his Letter of Intent to play basketball at Concordia University in Seward, Neb.
Nelson closed his career as a Mustang with the most career points and rebounds in school history. Nelson’s 1,306 points and 926 rebounds topped the charts.
He joins the Bulldog program that has had some serious success in recent years.
In the 2022-23 season, Concordia finished with a 18-13 overall record. They finished conference play at 12-9 respectively.
The Bulldogs are led by Head Coach Ben Limback. Limback will enter his 11th season at the helm when Nelson joins the program in the fall.
“Jace has high character and a willingness to improve and be coached,” said Limback.
“He has a great feel for the game, good hands, and nice touch from the perimeter,” he added.
As far as future plans, Coach Limback is not wavering on his plan.
“Our goal remains to continue to compete for championships with young men that want to work towards their academic career goals and develop as solid men of God,” said Limback.
Nelson will graduate on May 13 and will enroll at Concordia next fall.
